Cableguys ShaperBox 2 Plugin with Bass Guitar
ShaperBox 2 by Cableguys
has been one of my favorite plugins for years now. With the introduction of NoiseShaper, it became even more powerful. I didn’t have to think twice when Cableguys asked me to produce a video about ShaperBox.
My idea was to create a short song using only my bass and the ShaperBox 2 plugin.
I used nine instances of the plugin in the song. To show you just how great all of the individual elements sound, I compared the clean bass signal to the bass signal with the ShaperBox 2 plugin engaged for every part of the mix, starting at minute 1:55 of the video.
There are plenty of factory presets included, but making your own presets is really very easy. I used both my own user presets and some factory presets.
The drum and percussion elements used in this song are perfect examples of what the new NoiseShaper can do.
Using NoiseShaper to put white noise or different noise samples underneath the percussion sounds created on the bass can make it sound like a snare drum or a number of other percussion instruments.
