studied music at the American Institute of Music in Vienna (where I was the only student to graduate with the highest distinction, the Professional Diploma, in 1994) and at the jazz department of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (I graduated in 1997, after only three years).

What my students say

  • Herbert K.

„A“I was looking for a change of pace from my office job, so I picked up the bass guitar a couple of years ago. I didn’t know anything about bass and music when I started out. As my teacher, André has always been by my side on this exciting journey, helping me develop my playing skills and my theoretical knowledge.

He keeps me on my toes, but he’s always patient and super nice. He guides me and tells me what I should focus on, but he’s also happy to look at any specific ideas I may bring to the lesson. And he’s just the man when it comes to questions about equipment and technology.

As an additional bonus, he’s also showing me the basics of sound engineering. He’s taught me everything I need to know to record my instrument perfectly.”

  • Volker W.

“In many ways, I consider André Müller to be an ideal music teacher. What sets him apart from the bunch is his extremely broad and profound knowledge in many different areas, combined with his extraordinary playing and teaching skills. No matter if it’s music, technique or something technical like questions about setup, effects, live rigs or studio recording – André is an expert in all these areas. He’s been my no. 1 source of expert information for nine years now. With an academic background in both music and electrical engineering, he’s able to teach all aspects of modern electric music at a very high level. André is a gigging musician, a composer and a studio expert who combines the roles of session player, producer and sound engineer.”

  • Natalie F.

“I really enjoy my lessons with André. He gives me the freedom to explore and try out stuff, and he shows me how to make my ideas work. He doesn’t judge what I’m doing, and he’s very open-minded. He’s helping me to find my own style.”
